3. How to find and insert humor - not jokes…just good, funny examples from everyday life
4. Techniques for making the audience feel they are part of the program…questions, one-on-one remarks, call-backs

Lou Heckler has spoken at nearly every NSA national meeting in the US since 1987. He has also spoken at many GSN member meetings around the world: Germany, England, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur…and was the opening keynoter at this year’s Global Speakers Summit in Holland.

Lou Heckler is a motivational humorist and business speaker with more than 40 years experience in managing, motivating and directing others. He served on the adjunct faculty at the University of Michigan's Executive Education Center for 19 years and has served as a training specialist for the US Army and as a corporate director of training for a large multi-state broadcasting company.

Lou is a Certified Speaking Professional and was inducted into the National Speakers Association’s Speaker Hall of Fame in 1992. In 2010, readers of “Meetings and Conventions” Magazine named him as one of their favorite keynote speakers. He annually gives dozens of speeches for corporations, trade associations and educational institutions. In addition, a portion of Lou’s business each year is coaching other professional speakers. His specialty is mixing up-to-the-minute content with a whimsical sense of humor that shows up in his hilarious true stories from his business and personal life.

Lou also spent 14 years in public and commercial television, serving as a news reporter, news director, community affairs director, talk-show host.

He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Lou has lived in Florida since 1979. He has been married since 1968 to five-times-published novelist Jonellen Heckler and they have a son Steve, daughter-in-law Johanna, and two granddaughters who live in Atlanta, Georgia.
